Concrete
Placers - Placers are only required to place the concrete and
float the edges and columns for finishing. A typical day would be
between 8-10 hours . A crew of eight workers will place between
2,000 – 15,000 sq ft per pour using hand tools such as shovels,
rakes, screed board, bull floats, vibra strikes, and a hand held
laser level for correct elevations and hand trowels for columns and
edges. All placers are encouraged to have their own car for
transportation to the job site so that they can be dispatched to
additional work sites when they have completed the previous pour
enabling the worker to obtain longer hours with overtime pay. Each
placer is directed by a crew foreman and most placement methods are
with concrete pump or truck chute .
